Angelica Garrido is a wellness-focused leader with a diverse background in athletics, science, and community development. A former gymnast and competitive swimmer, Angelica’s foundation in sports has shaped her lifelong commitment to health, movement, and personal growth.
She holds a degree in Food Science Engineering and completed three years of journalism studies, blending technical expertise with strong communication and leadership skills. This interdisciplinary foundation has supported her dynamic career path in the wellness and nonprofit sector.
Angelica began her career at the YMCA in the aquatic department, where her leadership and passion for community wellness quickly led her to the role of District Aquatic Director. Her dedication to inclusive programming and healthy living has been a driving force throughout her career.
Currently, she serves as the Association Director of Active Older Adult, where she leads efforts to promote physical, emotional, and social well-being among older adults across the YMCA network. Her work is rooted in the belief that wellness is a lifelong journey, and that everyone, at every stage of life, deserves the opportunity to thrive.
Dedicated to creating lasting impact, Angelica continues to build a legacy of empowerment through education, movement, and community connection.
