Lisa Paper holds dual degrees in English and Telecommunications from the University of Florida. She served in the United States Peace Corps as a Let Girls Learn volunteer in Guinea, West Africa. She has worked as a substitute teacher in Florida and at an international school in Tokyo for the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) program. Lisa was a Fulbright grant recipient at Ghent University in Belgium. At present, Lisa is a Public Policy master’s degree program student at the University of Galway located in Galway, Ireland, and is honored to be a Rotary Global Grant Scholar.

Marushka, District 6990 Paul Harris Society Chair, has handed out our annual participation in the 2022-2023 TRF Chris Morrison Memorial Golf Ball Drop Ticket. Each member is asked every year to sell or purchase 4 tickets at $25 each totaling $100. If you have not received your tickets please get in touch with Marushka. If you have not turned in your money and stubs please drop them off at Jesus's at 600 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd or get with Marushka to meet up. All money and ticket stubs need to be turned in by Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

We need volunteers to help plant trees and pollinator shrubs. The dates are on January 28th for trees. At the Coral Estates Park planting on January 28th, starting at 10:00 in the morning, we will be planting 315 trees. Water & juices will be available, plus light snacks, at no charge. Please let us know if you will be attending; to ensure that we have sufficient supplies for all. Contact Marushka Jilek to volunteer by Tuesday, January 24th.

Pelican Island Maritime Hammock Pollinator Shrub Planting - On February 12th, starting at 10:00 in the morning, we will be planting 260 pollinator shrubs. We'll have water & juices, plus light snacks 'available' at no charge. Around 11:30, we'll start the BBQ, serving beef hotdogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, potato salad, chips, and cookies. There's a charge of $10 (per person) for the BBQ.
We'll need to ensure that we have sufficient beverages and food supplies for all, so kindly let us know the name of your Club and how many are in your party/group. IMPORTANT: Please advise us if you're attending 'PLANTING ONLY' or 'PLANTING & BBQ (Lunch).'
