Topic: "Empower The Girls"

Next Rotary Club Weekly Meeting

EMPOWER THE GIRL is a Rotary International initiative. Why do we do it? It makes families healthier. Educated girls have better-educated children and earn higher wages, helping get their families out of poverty. Every girl should be in charge of her own future. We have an obligation to protect girls' rights and promote their well-being. We can increase our impact through projects that empower and create equity for girls. One example is a project already underway in our Zone by an Interact Club. It’s called “A GIRL THING.” The club provides menstrual hygiene products and clothes for girls at the high school level. This project would allow us to reconnect with our Interact Clubs. If you have a project you can recommend, we would love to hear about it.
