The event will have food, games, and a dunking activity. The cost is $20.00 for adults, $10.00 for children aged 13-17, and free for children 12 and under. Proceeds will benefit the District Disaster Relief Fund. Bring chairs, sunglasses, and hats.

UPDATED: MON., OCT 07, 2024: This was a great picnic at such a special place. Thank you, Phil and Patty Marraccini, for donating the use of their beautiful property for this lovely get together.

And, to top this off, Cypress Creek Rotary, Brian Palkowitsh's partner, Michael won $170 in the 50/50 game and immediately donated his prize for the victims of Hurricane Helene.

FRI., OCT 18TH, 2024 - MOBILE SCHOOL PANTRY GULFSTREAM EARLY LEARNING CENTER

Members of the Hallandale Beach-Aventura Rotary Club volunteered with the Mobile School Pantry at the Gulfstream Early Learning Center, in Hallandale Beach.

Volunteers helped to set up the room, opening boxes, organizing the fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, dry foods, and much more. Once the room was ready then families came in to make their selection and leave with healthy, nutritious food. Volunteers keep replenishing the supplies.

Zeina Wolland is the CEO of Mobile School Pantry. Her hard work and dedication and true love of her community is contagious! It was a long day. We were exhausted but satisfied we volunteered at an extraordinary cause.

THUR., OCT 24TH, 2024 - WORLD POLIO AWARENESS DAY TOGETHER, WE END POLIO

World Polio Day highlights the global efforts to end poliomyelitis (polio) worldwide. Polio is a life-threatening disease caused by the poliovirus, which the World Health Assembly committed to eradicate in 1988. The WHO European Region was declared polio-free in 2002 and has sustained this status every year since then.

Every year on 24 October, we observe World Polio Day to raise awareness of the importance of polio vaccination to protect every child from this devastating disease, and to celebrate the many parents, professionals and volunteers whose contributions make polio eradication achievable.

To ensure a polio-free future for everyone, efforts must continue to maintain high immunization coverage, implement high-quality surveillance to detect any presence of the virus, and prepare to respond in the event of an outbreak.
