About Gulfstream Community Partnership School

In 2019, United Way of Broward County joined with five community organizations to create a Community Partnership School at two public schools in Hallandale Beach: Gulfstream Academy of Hallandale Beach K-8 and Gulfstream Early Learning Center. A Community Partnership School is a school model created by the University of Central Florida that leverages the social and institutional capital of community partners to address the socio-academic needs of students. With funding from the state legislature, United Way of Broward County and its core partners focus on meeting the immediate needs and long-term goals of Gulfstream students, their families and the Hallandale Beach community. Currently in its third year of implementation, the Community Partnership School at Gulfstream integrates health and wellness programs; expands student's access to tutoring, leadership programs and academic enrichment activities; and provides educational and social supports to families that empowers them to pursue success.

Our five core partners in this initiative are Broward County Public Schools, Broward College, Memorial Healthcare System, Hispanic Unity of Florida and the Early Learning Coalition of Broward.
