Laurie Mathews is Co-Founder and Director Emeritus of Global Dental Relief, providing dental care to children globally. GDR volunteers now serve 30,000 children annually in Nepal, India, and four other countries.
Prior to that, Laurie served for 10 years as the Director of Colorado Parks and worked in public policy for the U.S. Senate and Colorado Department of Natural Resources on water, air, and energy issues. She also directed efforts resulting in the successful passage of the Great Outdoors Colorado constitutional amendment.
Laurie was appointed to the Denver Public Library Commission in September 2017 and to Denver’s Sustainability Advisory Council in 2020. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Colorado and a Master's degree in Engineering from Stanford University.
