“What would the world look like if everyone had enough to eat and access to potable water?”
A 5-month stay in a kibbutz more than 35 years ago planted a thought in Jeff’s mind that there is no reason for anyone in the world to go hungry or not have access to potable water. This led him to study civil engineering with a minor in water resources. Although life then led him down a path of entrepreneurship, the thought never went away. During the pandemic lockdown, contemplating how relatively easy his life was compared to others around the world, he decided to start funding, Mbale Uganda, a water project through Innovation Africa. Furthering the project, his uncle a lifelong Rotarian, introduced him to Rotary. After 7 months as a member of the Rotary Club of Hallandale Beach-Aventura, he is convinced that this one project that he started in the middle of last year can be successfully completed through the power of Rotary. Learning about Rotary over the last 7 months he is also sure this one project can be used as a springboard to do many more.
Jeff has done much community service over the last 20+ years. Former president of the Downtown Miami Partnership, board member of the Cuban Hebrew Congregation, board member at the International School of Panama, President of the SAS PTSA, and most recently an active participant in the Hallandale/Aventura Rotary club and HANWASH.
