WED., MARCH 12TH - 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM "HYBRID CLUB MEETING"
ANTHONY'S COAL FIRED PIZZA (AVENTURA)

What a wonderful meeting we had on March 12, 2025!

We had the pleasure of welcoming two visitors and hear our speaker give a superb presentation.

Ms. Lynne Bonny, the Principal of the Gulfstream Academy, was able to join us regardless of her busy schedule. Our Club has been working on the Kindness Room at Ms. Bonny's school.

We are so happy she was able to have lunch with us and speak to our Club members.

Thanks for coming Ms. Bonny. You are always welcome!

Mr. Tariq Robinson is the new Director of Operations of the Hallandale Beach YMCA.

Tariq moved from Augusta, Georgia. He is transferring his Rotary membership to our Club. We are thrilled to have Tariq. I am confident our Club will collaborate in many projects with the Hallandale Beach YMCA. We are ready!

Without delay, our President-Elect Marushka Jilek and Rotarian Colleen Brooks used the opportunity to donate to the Hallandale Beach YMCA two large bags containing bathing suites. Marushka presented the donations to Tariq.

Welcome! Tariq.

Thank you! Marushka and Colleen.

Mrs. Lisa Paper was our speaker for today. Lisa is so accomplished and impressive. Among the many, many things Lisa has achieved, our Club is proud to share that with Rotary's assistance, Lisa earned a Public Policy master’s degree at the University of Galway in Ireland. She is a former Rotary Global Grant Scholar. She currently lives in Belgium with her husband.

Lisa spoke about the impact of Rotary in her life, her experience in Ireland, what she is currently doing, and her plans for the future. We are so proud of you, Lisa!

THU., MARCH 13TH @ 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM - "KINDNESS ROOM WRAP-UP"
GULFSTREAM ACADEMY

On March 13, 2025, we met again at the Gulfstream Academy in the Kindness Room. There we were greeted by Garry I. Bevel, JD Community Partnership School Manager - United Way of Broward County. We immediately started to work.

Connie Heatter and Marguerite Goulet intensely dedicated themselves to put together a wheeled cart.

Tomoko Supak and Evelyn Trinidad-Toraño opened dozens of boxes of snacks, while Tomoko organized everything in plastic containers and stacked them high in a pantry of sorts.

Evelyn continued to hang more pennants on the walls.

We were happy to see Rosario Acevedo de Higadera who joined us a little bit later and immediately started to help.

Garry unboxed the new refrigerator and helped us with everything that was needed.

We laughed, worked hard, rejoiced, learned and briefly were in lockdown when all the lights had to be turned off in almost absolute darkness.

We left happy knowing that we were volunteering for a great cause, acknowledging it is our privilege to serve as Rotarians.

We are thankful.
