WED., JANUARY 9TH - OUR FIRST CAMS MEETING OF 2025
ROTARY CLUB HALLANDALE BEACH-AVENTURA

On January 9, 2025, members of the Hallandale Beach/Aventura Rotary Club had their first Social (CAMS) of the year, at Padrino's Restaurant in Hallandale Beach.

It was so good to see each other after the Holidays! The Members exchanged stories, laughed, enjoyed and rejoiced knowing they are together ready to start this new year with renewed impetus. We have so much to be grateful for.

Above all, our Club start 2025 invigorated, conscious that as Rotarians our duty is to serve and do everything possible to make the world a better place. Kudos to Fran and Larry for always finding the perfect place.

WED., JANUARY 15TH  @ 12:30PM-2:00PM
EMPATHETIC PROJECT

On January 15, 2025, Diana Landero (past President of our Club 2020-2021) and Rotary Nathalia Contreras Soler gave an extraordinary and impressive presentation about the Empathetic Project in Ciudadela del Sur in Colombia. The Project's main objective is to reduce the difficulties of school coexistence between students from sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grades of the Ciudadela del Sur Educational Institution at its main headquarters, with 280 targeted students. This project is so very important and valuable, effecting our most precious asset: children. Thank you! Diana and Nathalia.

We also surprised our dear Fran Markowitz celebrating her 91st birthday! Congratulations Fran!

WED., JANUARY 29TH - GUEST SPEAKER: JAMES WARWICK
ROTARY CLUB HALLANDALE BEACH-AVENTURA

On January 29, 2025, our guest speaker, James Warwick, gave a fascinating presentation about a fall he suffered and its effects on his life. Jim was on a ladder, fixing something on the roof of his home. A bee suddenly appeared, and he fell. As a result of this fall, sometime later, he discovered he could sing like Frank Sinatra! We were, naturally, captivated by Jim's narrative. He will return to give a second presentation about the impact of music and art in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. We look forward to seeing Jim again. There's no doubt this second presentation will be as riveting as the first one.
